Past Events

     Starting in 2008, the Colfax Persimmon Festival has continued to grow in size and scope, today drawing about 2,000 visitors to the farm on the first Saturday each November through 2019. To see more pictures from past events, click here.

     The offerings have changed from year to year, and weather and last-minute cancellations can affect some participation, but Festival activities have included:

- Persimmon pulp and puddings on sale, plus persimmon fudge, muffins, cookies and bread -moved to the newly-constructed (2014) persimmon pulp sales building! Persimmon history, festival t-shirts and hats, and other goods..

- Food vendors offering country foods such as pinto beans, cornbread, barbecue, fried apple pies, soups, cider and iced tea. Local wine, beer makers and apple growers may also participate, too.

- Arts & crafts vendors with a range of items to shop.

- Live music.

- Demonstrations have included a blacksmith, woodworker with foot-powered pole lathe, a flintnapper and a chainsaw artist; molasses making; a tractor-driven tobacco stick making machine; and a remote-control airplane demo.

- Displays of antique tractors and farm machinery, antique automobiles and trucks, including the Model-A Car Club.

- One of the largest poplar trees in Guilford County, N.C.

- Children's area with vintage games; pony rides.

Rev War

- Revolutionary War and Civil War talks along with an encampment and cooking demo.
